College of Water and Environmental Engineering was found in 1962 as Wad Elmagboul Institute for Earth Sciences. In 1990s, the College was changed into the College of Water Engineering and Technology and then finally to its recent name. Currently the College offers interdisciplinary undergraduate programs that consist of joint programs in the fields of Water Resource Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
The college consists of two departments: the Department of Water Resources Engineering, the Department of Environmental Engineering. Currently, the undergraduate program comprises two specialty programs: Water Engineering and Environmental Engineering at undergraduate level; offers the basic knowledge required for water resource and environmental majors. The program is designed to train students with a strong foundation for engineering practice and for further study in the related fields.
The requirement for a degree of B.Sc Honours in Water Resources Engineering is the successful completion of 209 credits of courses, plus 44 credits of field training.
